Lakeland circumnavigation

South Lakeland District, Cumbria, England, UK

Distance: 238.13 km

Climb: 4,794.11 m

Back lanes, cycle ways, traffic free cycle ways, forest tracks, bridleways. Designed as an off road, gravel bike/bike packing loop of the LDNP. Grand Mountain passes, idealic lakeside tracks, coast and beaches, ancient woodland, stone-age remains, Roman bath house, castles. This ride shows off everything that Cumbria has to offer the adventurous cyclist. Mainly following valley tracks the ride rarely gets overly remote, although it does go over several mountain passes and stretches of moorland. Quiet back tracks and sleepy Cumbrian villages blur into a Wordsworthian utopia.
